Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the commonest childhood behavioural disorder. It impacts the holistic growth and development of a child. ADHD is a condition, which is easy to miss because of lack of awareness and it impacts learning, friendships and self esteem of children and young people. Understanding and helping a young person with ADHD needs skilful intervention from teachers and parents. With a view to enhance understanding of this common condition amongst teachers, Mental Health Foundation, Kolkata and Department of Education, Jadavpur University, Kolkata organised a 1 day conference on Role of Teachers and Counsellors in managing ADHD on 23rd August 2019 at Jadavpur University. The conference was attended by more than 70 teachers and trainee teachers.
