Addressing the dilemmas around Mandatory Reporting in POCSO Act 2012

For professionals working with children, cases of sexual abuse bring a serious dilemma. The POCSO Act, 2012 mandates reporting to authorities, but many families resist due to fear and stigma—placing clinicians and counsellors in a difficult position.
To address this, Mental Health Foundation, Kolkata hosted a lecture by Prof. Shekhar Seshadri (Retd. HoD, Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, NIMHANS) on 24th August 2025. Over 70 professionals attended to learn how to navigate the complexities of mandatory reporting.
This session is a valuable resource for anyone working with children to better understand these legal and ethical nuances.

Adult ADHD Lecture
April 2025

In recent years, we’ve learned that Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is not limited to childhood. Many adults continue to face challenges with focus, organization, time management, impulsivity, and emotional regulation—affecting work, relationships, and overall well-being.
Yet, adult ADHD often remains underdiagnosed and untreated due to low awareness and limited access to specialized care. To address this gap, MHF Kolkata is now offering comprehensive evaluation and treatment tailored for adults.
This lecture by Prof. Vivek Benegal explores the complexities of Adult ADHD.
