Protection of Child Rights
We, at Mental Health Foundation, Kolkata, are delighted to share this video which has been made for West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights. It is made for all of us who are supporting children with developmental concerns. We have to thank Ms Ananya Chakraborti, for giving us this opportunity and Ms Yashobanti Sreemany for her help. This video would not have been possible without the parents who sent us their recordings so that we can weave their stories in the narrative and our team owes a huge debt of gratitude to Aditya Upadhya, who put all the pieces together from different sources to create the video.

ADHD: Thinking like a Child Psychiatrist
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the commonest childhood disorders but to diagnose a child with ADHD is a complex process of collating information from multiple sources. The process of diagnosing a child with ADHD has to be done with due diligence, as the stakes of not diagnosing or misdiagnosing, can be very high.
In this video, Dr Jai R Ram, Consultant Psychiatrist, MD (NIMHANS, Bangalore) MRCPsych(UK), CCST (UK) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry shares his thoughts on how to (and also how not to!) arrive at a diagnosis of ADHD. This video is meant for professionals and teachers who work with children and young people who are suspected to have ADHD.
